The Yellowstone river winds through the Hayden Valley in this image. The Hayden Valley in Yellowstone is one of a number of known wildlife areas. Yellowstone is the only place in the United States where bison have lived continuously since prehistoric times. Bison live year-round in the Hayden Valley even as it gets to -44°.
If you were to look you can see a herd of Buffalo just to the left of center below the mountains.
